6 Ways to Grow your Client List, Increase Bookings and Get Cash Fast…without Discounting!

I was speaking this weekend with a client of mine who is a massage therapist that just ventured out on her own and is still fresh within the first 90 days of her private practice. One of her biggest concerns, especially this time of year with holidays and vacations coming up, was growing her business fast to prepare her for the new year. Her strategy was to discount her services and use Groupon to acquire new clients and generate cash fast.
This is a common mistake I see therapists make because you are only applying a short term fix to a major problem and will lead you in a worse position! After planning and strategizing we came up with 5 ways to generate new clients and cash fast, even in a “slower” time of year and without discounting.
Below are the 6 ways to help you grow your client bookings and get cash fast, without discounting!
1 – Get focused on your target market
A lot of therapists waste a ton of money on advertising because they haven’t spent enough time choosing the right market services. Get clear about who your perfect client is first. Once you do this, you’ll cut your waste to zero and start getting maximum results from all your marketing.
2 – Fine-tune your Unique Service Message (USM).
If you are still competing with other businesses, then your USM needs work. Create a USM that makes your business the clear and only choice for your clients Your USM really needs to be specific to both the problem you solve and who you solve it for. Once you nail this, you will have a line up of prospects waiting for your help.
3 – Sell packages & memberships
When you take a bunch of products and services you are already selling and create a package with a compelling price, you can often make a lot more money just by offering a premium continuity service. On average the healthcare businesses that offer memberships have a 200% higher lifetime value and triple client retention rate.
4 – Sell to groups
We have talked about the idea of selling to groups from workshops, community events, webinars, and so on, instead of one to one. When you get good at selling to groups you can appeal to more prospects at a time while building your authority and trust.
5 – Get better at email marketing
Competition for attention in your email inbox is at an all-time high. Too many health practice owners are sloppy and don’t give enough care to creating valuable, relevant, compelling messages—consistently. Learn the fundamentals of crafting a compelling valuable message and resist the temptation to just whip something up and get it out. Poor email messages will alienate your list—sometimes permanently. While a consistent compelling message will get them opening, clicking, and buying.
6 – Round up your lost clients.
You might be surprised how many of your clients have “gone missing”. They will be happy you remember them and many will be eager to come back. This is an immediate solution to bring an instant flow of cash into your business. Doing one of these things will increase your income and scheduled bookings. Doing all of them could make a tremendous impact.
Pick one or two to start and once you’ve implemented them, move on to another one (or two) on the list.
